Flavia Pennetta

The Italian is making her debut at Eastbourne 2010 with an incredible ability to serve aces at will as the weapon of choice.

Veteran Flavia Pennetta beat Spain's Carla Suarez Navarro in three sets to capture the 2010 Andalucia Open on Marbella's clay - her ninth career title.

But the Italian's go-for-broke aces also result in a high number of double faults, which is why Pennetta is not in the world's top 10 players.

Had a reasonably successful 2010 campaign, which she kicked off by finishing runner-up to Yanina Wickmayer at the New Zealand Open in Auckland before progressing to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open.

During the 2009 grass court season, Pennetta reached the quarter-finals at Hertogenbosch, Holland and followed it up with a run to the third round of Wimbledon - halted by French ace Amelie Mauresmo.

Reached fourth round at 2010 French Open.

Chances of winning | Not among those who could realistically take the title despite her fantastic serve. Brave battler who should make the quarter-finals and can upset some of the big names.
